Fishing
Mount Juliet is home to two significant rivers within its walls: the famous River Nore and its tributary, the King’s River. Both rivers have plentiful catches of salmon and wild brown trout, through the years. Fishing can be arranged from break of dawn until darkness falls: for a day, an afternoon or a few quiet hours in the evening. Lessons offer expert help for those who are less familiar with the mysteries of the rod and fly – coaching available for complete beginners.
Golf
Designed by Jack Nicklaus, Mount Juliet Estate 18 hole golf course first opened in 1991. Since then, the course has hosted three Irish Open’s and has established itself as a premier venue for all levels of golfer. Five lakes have been constructed, which enhance six of the holes, while over 80 bunkers have been strategically placed throughout. Mount Juliet has been recently voted Ireland’s Best Parkland Golf Course by the Golfers Guide to Ireland.
Equestrian
The wonderful Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre is one of the most impressive centres in the country with two arenas, an American barn, and show jumps. For those who wish to undertake trekking and trail-riding excursions, our exhilarating cross-country course and miles of bridal-ways sprawl out into the surrounding pastures, parkland and pastures both within and beyond the estate. The hotel also offers both group and individual lessons for both beginners and experienced riders.
Archery
While the unique feeling of pulling back an arrow and letting it fly towards its target hasn’t changed in centuries, you can rest assured that the equipment and training you will receive on the estate meet the highest modern standards. Archers of all abilities and ages are welcome, from six upwards. The trained personnel are always on hand to both ensure your safety and proffer expert tips on how to make your arrow fly straight and true.
Tip: Make a Break for It and enjoy a weekend break in Mount Juliet Estate .
