Kilkenny Castle Park comprises of an incredible 50 acres of land providing the ideal spot for a picnic no matter how big the family or group are!! Each year, hundreds of thousands of visitors come to see the Anglo-Norman Castle and walk through its rolling parkland with mature trees and an abundance of wildlife. The park also has woodland walks, formal terraced rose garden, a man-made lake, which were added in the nineteenth century & a superb children’s playground with swings, slides, bridges and benches for adults too. Open until 8.30pm during the summer.
Tip: Grab a gourmet Take Out Picnic from The Kilkenny Design Centre to enjoy in the park. On Thursday’s soak up the atmosphere at the market outside the Castle Parklands.
