Even before recorded history, our ancestors flew birds of prey. From the Steppes of Asia, to medieval Europe, from five thousand years ago to the present day, Falconry has become a way of life for Falconers around the world. Whether or not you have experienced Falconry before, you will get a chance to handle these magnificent creatures, letting them fly from your gloved hand and returning to feed. It is a profound experience to interact so closely with a hunting animal.
At Hawkeye School of Falconry, they are totally dedicated to this Ancient Sport of Kings. This, the noblest of all field sports, gives you the unique opportunity to personally fly, handle, feed and interact with some of their trained Hawks and Owls. They adhere to a very high standard of Falconry and only use practising Falconers for all their services. At Hawkeye School of Falconry, they provide a range of Falconry experiences at our purpose-built school on the grounds of the beautiful Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny. In addition to their school, they also provide a mobile unit which services other hotels in the South-East area.

Falconry Experience again is a private experience, this experience differs in the content and lasts approximately 1 hour also.
Price: Minimum 2 people €90 each – 3 people €80 each – 4 to 10 people €70 each
Family Experience is private and is suitable for families with younger children.
Price: €150 for a family of 2 adults and up to 3 children.
Group Eagle Experience is a mixed group experience (all other experiences are private) which is run on select days of the week at 3.15pm and lasts approx 90 minutes. This experience is everything our Falconry Experience has to offer with the thrilling addition of getting up close and personal with our beautiful Eagle Priscilla and witnessing her in flight!
Price: €65 per person minimum age for this experience is 14 years of age.
