Castlecomer Discovery Park

Overview

For those who love an adrenalin filled day followed by a picnic, then Castlecomer Discovery Park is the ideal place. The 80-acre activity park features a wide range of exhilarating activities for all ages, from the fun and challenging tree-top walk high amongst the sycamore trees to archery, zip lines and much more. For the younger children, there’s a playground, an elf and fairy village, a giant bouncing net and a Junior Woodland Adventure Course where children navigate a series of low-risk challenges, balancing and steering their way through the obstacles.

Visitors can enjoy leisurely boating activities on the larger of our two picturesque lakes, in the stunning natural woodland setting. The lakes are surrounded by a variety of magnificent trees, and you can admire the backdrop of the beautiful recently restored 17th century stone bridge.

Boating activities give you the chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the 80-acre woodland. So whether you’re after a fast-paced or leisurely cruise around the lake you can still fit in some exercise while having fun on our Pedal boats and Canadian canoes!

Archery at Castlecomer Discovery Park is a great experience, fully trained instructors will give you a crash course in how to unleash your inner Robin Hood. Feel at one with nature in our woodland archery range. They also have Children’s Bows – these are sized for our little Robin Hoods to make the experience all the better.

Activities at the Park can be enjoyed on your own, as a couple, together as a family or as a group of friends, colleagues, teammates or classmates.

Seasonal Events: There are a range of seasonal activities that respond to natures changing backdrop in park, whether that is the famous woodland Santa Experience, or spooky Halloween events. There is a lively and fresh programme of events to encourage people to visit in all seasons.

Tip: After a day of adventure treat yourself to lunch or dinner in the nearby Avalon House Hotel  . This will make for a memorable day out!
